LIGHTS ON THE LIGHTHOUSE

Arcluce has recently been appointed to illuminate with its outdoor floodlights Moto the historic J.C.J. van Speijk Lighthouse.

Located on the North Sea coast near Egmond aan Zee, in Bergen, in the Netherlands, the J.C.J. van Speijk Lighthouse was built in 1834 as a memorial to the Dutch naval hero Captain Jan van Speijk who blew up his own crew and gunship in 1831 to prevent it from falling into the hands of Belgian revolutionaries at Antwerp.

For centuries it has been a beacon for sailors, with the northside shining red light to warn against dangerous shallow waters and then once the ship has sailed through the hazardous area, a white light can be seen.

Whilst still a reference point for the monitoring and identification of ships, with the advancements in maritime navigation technology today it is now a popular tourist attraction and a haven for artists and photographers.

After climbing 6 floors and 137 steps, you can reach the top of the lighthouse and enjoy a fantastic view from the 37 meter height as the monument shines its light over the sea and the village.

Using Arcluce’s outdoor floodlight Moto, the iconic monument has been illuminated from top to bottom for maximum visual effect with an ultra-wide beam and 4000K color temperature.
